Eric served from about 1804 as a servant at Asa estate and was called Froman. He became a dragoon at Smålands lätta dragonregemente, Andre majorens kompani on 22/2 1808 for rusthåll No 78 Granhult, In spring year 1813 the regement was transported to Germany to fight there for the Swedish King Karl Johan's north army in the war against France. In December 1813 they participated in the campaign against Denmark and later return to Germany and follow the Swedish troops to Germany and Holland. In June and August 1814 the regement returned to Sweden. The regement changed name in year 1822 to Småland's hussar regement. Eric remained as a hussar untill 1838 when he retired and moved to Dufvedal, Granhult, Asa.
